Our Mission

It is only a phase if you do not nurture the desire to learn.

Founder and CEO of Sauropsida.

- Aidan Williams Dale,

Our mission at Sauropsida is to inspire the next generation of knowledge seekers,

creatives, and educators to help bring ecological conservation efforts and science as a priority to all communities.

Our goal is to become a reliable leader in science education and community engagement. Though our focus is reptiles and amphibians of past and present ecologies, our efforts to understand these beautiful creatures and the environments and other organisms they interact with are key to creating a holistic and well-rounded picture of the natural world. Depicting and representing these organisms as scientifically accurate as possible takes precedence through diligent research, problem-solving, and communication.

To better understand the diversity of our world, we are intentionally curating a network of diverse science education organizations, science educators, and education

facilities/school boards, particularly those from BI-POC, LGBTQ2IA+, and neurodiverse

communities. These perspectives will allow us to build programming that incorporates

knowledge from numerous cultures to further our understanding of the natural world.

This will only help us succeed in our efforts to become a credible educational institution.

Additionally, the perspectives of these communities on education and engagement will

enrich our approach and allow us to create inclusive programming. Science and

education are for everyone, regardless of who you are and where you come from.

Our diversity makes the world vibrant! Learning is an avenue for joy, while also an opportunity to acquire key skills, such as problem-solving, collaboration, and research. We want to remind the world that learning is fun and helping others around us achieve their pursuits of learning, their special interest, is key to learning how to problem solve and fostering

creativity.
