About Aidan Williams Dale
Aidan developed their deep-rooted interest in reptiles and amphibians
at 2 years old. It started with, and continues to include, a fascination
with dinosaurs. The anatomy, size, and diversity of these marvels of
evolutionary history fascinated Aidan, and they naturally found themself making
connections between modern and prehistoric ecologies.
Having a supportive family that helped them collect and visit resources
throughout childhood helped develop a discipline that shaped them
into the person they are today. Aidan recognises that having family,
friends and mentors who truly understand Aidan’s desire for
evolutionary knowledge lends major support as the foundation of
Aidan’s continual growth. They knew that from a young age, they
wanted to create a place of their own to be THE institution that would
help Black, Indigenous, people of colour and anyone looking to
find their place in the scientific worlds of herpetology, conservation,
and palaeontology.
Sauropsida is a lifelong project for Aidan. A place where people of all
ages and backgrounds can nurture their curiosity and intrigue for the
natural world through reptiles and amphibians. Aidan creates
community, career and education opportunities for others, contributing
to the next generation of knowledge seekers and educators. This
fascination and love for the natural world will always be the key
motivator.
